Tucson Baby Photographer ~ Hayden, Growing Up Series

I have loved working with this family for almost an entire year now, and Mr. Hayden has returned to be part of a special “Growing Up Series” project. Last year I photographed Jackie & Christian’s maternity session on Mt. Lemmon. These two were just so young & in love, and thrilled to be expecting their baby boy. The session was awesome, and the photographs are still some of my very favorite maternity images.

I was also lucky enough to be able to photograph the adorable Hayden when he was born in October. It was so fun doing another holiday themed photo session. During that session we were lucky to get this amazing image of Hayden in the yellow dump truck. It was a meaningful image to the family because Christian works in and around construction equipment daily, so if it was possible Jackie & Christian really wanted to try it.

Unfortunately, Hayden had been very restless during his session, so I was skeptical that we would be able to get this image. A baby needs to be deeply asleep for this pose to be done safely in this prop. But with some country tunes playing in the background, Hayden settled in nicely for this gorgeous shot.

I love the idea of using a single unchanging object over and over again for each Milestone baby session, starting with them as a newborn, to create a “Growing Up Series” of images. I begged Jackie & Christian to take part in this project with me.

Starting with the newborn image, that shows just how teeny tiny Hayden was in the beginning. Now at 6 months old, he is sitting, and can no longer fit curled up in the back of the truck.

Hopefully they will be able to return again when Hayden turns one year old, and we will be able to see, exactly to scale, how much he really has changed in his first year of life! I cannot wait!
