Isn’t it wonderful to be able to look through your grandparent’s old photo albums and to hear the stories that are attached to each of the moments captured?
Today, when our phones and cameras capture our images they are uploaded to social media. Instantly we have shared them with the world. But just as quickly they are forgotten.
These images then dwell in the depths of our computers, in a digital media cloud, or on a flash drive or CD in the back of the junk drawer. Just as easily they can be lost forever. They become victims of a hard drive crash, a bankrupt company, or an obsolete technology.
In 100 years will our grandchildren and great-grandchildren be able to look back and find these photos? Will they ever even know what we looked like?
The only way to guarantee that they do, and to guarantee that you will also be able to enjoy these images, is to rescue them from being only a handful among trillions of digital files, and turn them into artwork.
A beautiful wall gallery of fine art prints capturing your sweet newborn’s sleepy smiles and tiny toes – or a canvas of the loving connection you and your significant other have as you await the arrival of your new child – perhaps a custom made album documenting your baby’s first year of life, so you can look back and remember all of the silly faces and expressions that were unique to only them. These are the keepsakes that will preserve these moments in time, for you, and for generations to come.
I know you want amazing photos, otherwise you wouldn’t be here! Images that will forever capture the delicate nature of your newborn and the sweetness of your baby as they grow. You probably also want your photo session experience to be easy, but fun and memorable too. But looking for a newborn photographer or baby photographer in the Tucson area can be overwhelming! There are so many newborn photographers in Tucson to choose from!
So take a few minutes and walk through the steps on this page to see if you and I would be a good match for each other!
Step 1: Do you like my work?
During the session, my goal is to work with you to find props and backdrops that you’ll love and that will compliment your style!
It might be all neutrals with simple and sweet posing. Maybe some pops of bright colors or patterns to match your little one’s nursery. Or perhaps a more elaborate set up with a seasonal theme – there are just so many options! Suppose you would like a little bit of everything? That can be arranged too! I have many special props & items that we can use during your session from these exclusive vendors; Buttercup Baby Props, Mountain Mommy’s Crochet, Taopan, Headband So Chic, Lavender Gray & Gracee Collection.
Most of the session is spent working with your newborn or baby to get those sweet little poses that emphasize how tiny and delicate they are. I have spent hundreds of hours studying as a newborn photographer, practicing with newborns, babies, and families to get those perfect shots that you will love. And while shooting the family images, I will help you find the poses with your newborn or baby that look awesome, and yet feel relaxed and natural.
I work hard to pay attention to all the little details that will make your photos great. We will talk and laugh during your session, and though you may start out a bit nervous, I hope you will walk away feeling like you made a new friend!
As a newborn photographer and baby photographer, my editing style and studio setups are somewhere between vintage and modern, but with an delicate feel that highlights your baby’s natural sweetness. I want your photos to have an artistic sense of timelessness about them – so that you’ll look back at them years later and still love them as much as you will today.
Here are some of my favorite newborn, baby, and maternity photography sessions. If you like what you see, continue on to STEP 2!
If not, that’s okay – I wish you all the best in your search for a newborn photographer who is a better match for you.
Handsome little Apollo came to visit me at 16 days old. A typical newborn session will occur between 6-12 days old. So Apollo was a little bit older than that, but luckily he had no problems sleeping well or snuggling up into a little ball for me.
His parents said that they would be wearing yellows & grays, so I made sure to get my coordinating props and backdrops set up for a neutral toned newborn photography session. The photos turned out amazing!
This sweet baby girl is named Violet, so I chose to do a lot of purple tones in many of her images. As a late October baby, I also wanted to include the holiday (even her Halloween costume!) in some of our newborn photography setups.
I loved being able to work so extensively with my own newborn daughter.
We held this gorgeous maternity session up Mt. Lemmon Highway at Gordon Hirabayashi Recreation Area. This couple was so in love, and thrilled to be expecting their first baby.
Due to comfort, maternity sessions are best held between 30-34 weeks. Jackie was right around 34 weeks during this maternity session.
Newborn baby Easton arrived a bit early, just a short month after their maternity session. You can see more photos of his neutral & blue toned newborn photography session here as well.
This was a fun maternity announcement mini-session we did at sunset in a park on Tucson’s eastside. If you only need a few photos to use for a card or announcement, like Ken & Lindsay, make sure to check out my session information pages to learn about my mini-sessions.
Newborn Howie came to visit me in early November, at 12 days old. His nursery is decorated in orange, brown, and gray, so we decided to emphasize those fall colors during his newborn photo session. I love how the muted tans and grays worked so well with the boldly colored blanket in the albums I made for them.
These identical twin boys and their (2 year old) older brother were absolutely precious during their baby milestone session. We had such a great time.
Nicole was so thrilled with this photo, that she used it for their (belated) birth announcements. Could they be any cuter with their identical expressions of curiosity?
This family was with me for almost a year. It was such a joy getting to watch her grow!
We did Cherish’s maternity photography session in the fall, and a newborn photography session once their baby girl McKinley arrived in early December.
During McKinley’s first year, we did a family mini-session at 2-months old. Then we also did baby milestone sessions, at both 4-months old and 8-months old.
